This recent PIL report on information literacy and first-year college students posted on the Freerange blog may be of interest.

A huge thank you to the academic librarians from the Auraria campus, Regis University, and Colorado School of MInes for venturing out on a chilly December day to collaborate, discuss, and share your insights about the essential research skills students need for academic success at the university level. I thoroughly enjoyed our discussion about plagiarism, citations, databases, evaluation of sources, collection development, and exactly what do professors expect students to know about researching. I came away with new ideas to incorporate and confirmation of the amazing things we are doing in the high school library. I look forward to more opportunities to collaborate!
